Yesterday Siberia Airlines, the leading Russian airline, announced the intention to acquire 50 airliners of the new Russian Regional Jet (RRJ) family.

On July 10, Siberia Airlines conducted its first regular flight S7 877 Kemerovo - Hanover. On the same day, a program of flights from western Siberia to Munich. the capital of Bavaria, was launched too. The first regular flight S7 879 Novosibirsk - Munich was conducted, while on the following day, on July 11, flights from Barnaul to Munich started (flight S7 887). From July 21, flights from Omsk to Munich will be performed (flight S7 885).

Siberia Airlines started operating its second Airbus 310-300. The aircraft arrived in Moscow on the night of July 16 and just two days later conducted its first commercial flight Moscow - Erevan - Moscow. This plane, as well as the first one, was taken for operational leasing from Airbus Leasing II until the end of 2007.

Siberia Airlines is launching regular flights S7 007/008 Chelyabinsk - Moscow - Chelyabinsk. The daily flights will be provided with Tu -154 and Il-86 having both economy and business class. The plane will depart from Chelyabinsk at 08:35 a.m. to arrive in Moscow at 09:00 a.m. local time. From Moscow (the Domodedovo airport) the plane will take off at 10:00 p.m. The first flight from Chelyabinsk will be conducted on July 10 (from Moscow on July 9).

On July 10, Siberia Airlines will conduct the first flight S7 501/502 Irkutsk - Niigata - Irkutsk. On the occasion of opening air traffic between Japan and the Irkutsk region, a delegation from Japan headed by Yusuke Sekine, the Niigata government representative, arrives in Irkutsk with the first flight. The delegation also includes representatives of the city administration and of the Niigata airport. The program of the visit contains meetings with the administration of the Irkutsk region and with the administration of Siberia Airlines, as well as visits to an architectural and ethnographic museum and a museum of the Baikal Lake.
