S7 Airlines


S7 Airlines (brand of Sibir Airlines) is the major airline on domestic air routes of Russia and is among TOP-50 world air carriers in this segment.

The airline tracks its history back to 1957 when the first commercial flight was made from the military airfield in Novosibirsk Region served by Tolmachevsky United Air Group. Sibir Airlines was formed around this air group. Since 2005 Sibir flies under S7 Airlines brand.

S7 Airlines operates the largest domestic flight network in Russia built around the three hubs in Moscow (Domodedovo), Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) and Irkutsk. S7 Airlines makes regular flights to Europe, Middle East, Southern Asia and Asian Pacific destinations.

Now S7 operates the most modern and “youngest” fleet in Russia with the average aircraft age of 6 years. All flights are served with foreign Airbus and Boeing aircraft only. S7 has 32 aircrafts on its fleet: 19 Airbus A319s, nine Airbus 320s, two Airbus 310s and two long-haul Boeing 767-300s.

S7 is actively developing cooperation with leading international carriers. Partnership agreements provide an opportunity for the airline to offer booking of flights operated by over 70 airlines, for hundreds of destination all over the world.

S7 branches and representative offices operate in 37 Russian cities, 13 cities in CIS countries and 14 cities in other countries, including Frankfurt on the Main (Germany), Dublin (Ireland), Beijing (China), Seoul (South Korea), Antalya (Turkey) and Bangkok (Thailand).

Before the end of 2010 S7 is to become a full member of oneworld, the world’s leading quality airline alliance, to offer its customers access to the global flight network and additional services.

S7 is one the most progressive airlines in Russia giving passengers new standards of service, supported by the use of latest technology. Customers are offer convenient services to choose their flights and air fares at the web site, to check-in online and to use other web services.

A booking or an online check-in by a mobile phone is also available. In 2009 S7 Airlines launched the first mobile site in Russia – s7.ru. Also S7 Airlines is the first carrier in Russia to adopt full electronic ticketing.

S7 has a frequent flyers program called «S7 Priority». This program offers customers a lot of opportunities to earn and redeem mileage rewards and enjoy all their other benefits. Now it has over 200 thousand members.

Since 2001 S7 Airlines is an acting members of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).  Since 2007 S7 Airlines holds the internationally recognised IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) certification, renewed in October 2008.

In 2004 S7 was awarded a price by Air Transport World magazine, an American magazine of prominent standing in the commercial aviation industry, as the Market Leader, in 2003 it became the first Russian commercial airline to receive a Flight International Aerospace Award from the Flight International magazine, Great Britain, for its Corporate Strategy.

In 2007 S7 became the winner of the annual national award “Peoples’ Brand / Brand No.1 in Russia”.

In November, 2008, S7 was awarded the annual professional price Sales Business Awards in sales, marketing and advertising.

S7 Airlines, together with Globus airline, S7 Tour, international tour operator, S7 Ticket, ticket and tour package retail chain, and several other companies engaged in commercial air travel is a part of S7 Company Group.

The airlines forming S7 Company Group carried 5.6 million passengers in 2009. S7 Airlines reconfirmed its leadership in number of passengers carried domestically with 3.5 million customers on flights in Russia.
