“Sibir” Airlines, Russia’s largest carrier by the number of passengers transported on domestic air routes, has announced the results of its activity for the year 2008.
In 2008 the services of OJSC “Sibir” Airlines” were preferred by 5,892,548 passengers.
In comparison to the year 2007, the total volume of passenger transportation had increased by 3.4%.The airline enjoys a persistent leadership position on the domestic air routes. In 2008 “Sibir” Airlines carried 4,103,432 passengers on flights across Russia, which by 14% exceeds the figures for 2007.
S7 Airlines, Russia’s largest air carrier by number of passengers on domestic routes, announces that it will begin operating flights between Novosibirsk and Norilsk on a modern Airbus A320 airliner beginning February 4, 2009. The company had previously flown Soviet-made Tu-154 airplanes on this route.
In addition, the S7 Airlines flight on this route will now be operated year-round, not just during summertime as it was previously.
