Check-in

Here you can find more information about how to check in for your S7 Airlines flight. There are three ways to check in:

»  On-line, including the option of a mobile boarding pass
»  At a self-service terminal in the airport
»  At a check-in counter in the airport

On-line check-in

You can check in here on the S7 airlines website up to 23 hours before departure.  This new service is simple and practical: you save time at the airport and can even choose your own seat(s) in the cabin, checking in up to 6 passengers on a single booking(1).  All you need is an internet connection and access to a printer.

Passengers with an internet-enabled mobile phone can avoid printing costs by opting for a mobile boarding pass.

6 easy steps to checking in on-line:

1.  Go to on-line check-in and enter your details.

2.  Select the flight and passengers to be checked in.  In order to have their miles registered, S7 Priority passengers and other frequent flyers should ensure their programme is shown alongside their name.  If it isn’t, simply click ‘Specify’ and enter membership details.

3.  Choose your cabin seat(s) with the easy-to-use map.

4.  Check the flight data again, and read the important information on airport formalities.

5.  Choose how to receive your boarding pass.  You can print it immediately, receive it by e-mail for later printing, or have it sent to your web-enabled phone as a mobile boarding pass (if this service is available at the airport of departure.)

6.  Arrive at the airport with your boarding pass, and with plenty of time for airport formalities.  If you have baggage to check in, hand it in at the Baggage Drop-Off counter (at Domodedovo), or at a shared registration counter (at other airports).

You can now go through the security check and board your flight.  If you’re flying business class, you can use your boarding pass to gain access to the S7 executive lounge.

    »  Baggage check-in closes 40 minutes* before departure;
    »  The weight, dimensions, and number of pieces of carry-on luggage** must be within the baggage allowance rules.  If they are not, the passenger must take them to a check-in counter to be accepted for carriage in the aircraft’s hold;
»  Disabled passengers, pregnant women, other special category passengers, and those travelling with a baby under 2 years, may not check in on-line, and should instead go to a check-in counter at the airport to check in.

(1) When a group of passengers is checked in, a boarding pass is issued for each person.
(2) On all flights except for those to China.
(3) Local authority regulations require passengers departing from Baku, Beijing or Bangkok airports to produce a boarding pass certified by a check-in agent.  For this reason passengers who check in on-line must exchange their on-line boarding pass for a standard one at an S7 check-in counter at these airports.  We apologise for any inconvenience.

Mobile boarding pass

(This service is currently available at Moscow (Domodedovo), Ekaterinburg (Koltsovo), Munich, Frankfurt.)

We now offer a free mobile boarding pass service for S7 and Globus passengers checking in on-line or on their mobile. It allows passengers to go through security checks and boarding while saving on printing costs, and to avoid queues at check-in desks.

The mobile boarding pass is like a standard boarding pass, but designed to be displayed on an internet-enabled mobile phone. It includes a special 2D barcode containing all the passenger and flight details necessary for boarding: flight number, itinerary, date and time of departure/arrival, boarding time and gate number, as well as the cabin seat number chosen during check-in.

S7 Priority members and business class passengers can also use their mobile boarding pass to gain access to the business lounges at Moscow Domodedovo and Koltsovo (Ekaterinburg) airports.

How do I get a mobile boarding pass?

Step 1. Check-in for your flight online, or on your web-enabled mobile.

Step 2. At the final stage of check-in you can choose how to receive your boarding pass. Click ‘Send boarding passes to your mobile phone’, and enter your mobile phone number. You will then receive an SMS message with a link to your mobile boarding pass. To open it, make sure that you have an internet connection, and that your browser’s image display function is turned on.

Please note: mobile boarding passes can be used only at airports equipped to process them. You can find out about your airport of departure in advance by calling our 24-hour Contact Centre on 8-800-200-000-7 (within Russia), or +7-495-777-99-99 (from abroad), or by contacting the airport directly. If the airport is not able to process mobile boarding passes, then at Step 2 you should choose either to print your boarding pass immediately, or to receive it by email for subsequent printing.

Your mobile boarding pass will look something like this:

How do I use my mobile boarding pass?

Step 1. Charge your phone before you leave!

Ensure that your mobile phone's battery is sufficiently charged to allow you to undergo the required security checks at all stages of your journey.

If you have any problems with your mobile phone (e.g. low battery, or image display problems) please do not hesitate to approach our company representatives for assistance.

Step 2. At the airport, have your mobile boarding pass ready for inspection and scanning.

If you have checked-in luggage, drop it off at the special baggage check-in counter for those who have checked in online. If you have only carry-on luggage, you can go straight to the security check.

Before the security check, you may be required to have your 2D barcode scanned in order to print a hard-copy boarding pass; in Russia, it is currently obligatory. There are special devices for this. Simply place your phone under the scanner, follow the on-screen instructions, collect your printed boarding pass, and continue through the security check.

N.B. Please retain your printed boarding pass, as it may be required later – and you may need it for your own accounting purposes.

Step 3. Proceed to your gate for boarding. Enjoy your flight!

The gate number for boarding is specified in your mobile boarding pass.

Further information

MULTIPLE FLIGHTS. If you've checked in for a journey involving more than one flight, you need to reload your mobile boarding pass before each successive flight, to ensure that the 2D barcode contains the relevant flight information.

PASSPORT CONTROL. Please note that you may be asked to show your boarding pass (mobile or printed) at passport control desks.

GROUPS. If there is more than one passenger on your booking, an individual mobile boarding pass will be generated for each one, and passengers should ensure they have access to their own boarding pass (mobile or printed). The transfer of a mobile communication device between passengers, while undergoing the security check, is prohibited.

PROBLEMS. If for any reason the airport is unable to process your mobile boarding pass as expected, simply take your baggage to the special baggage drop-off counter in the check-in area, to have it tagged and accepted for the flight. Our company representatives will provide you with a printed boarding pass.

This may be required even if you have only carry-on baggage; in some countries, including Russia, a hard-copy boarding pass is obligatory. If not, you can go straight to the security check area.

Self-service terminals

Checking in at our self-service terminals is quick and easy, and particularly popular with business travellers and those with only carry-on luggage.  Save time at the airport and choose your own seat(s) in the cabin, checking in up to 6 passengers on a single booking(1).

Find the self-service terminals, with their bright green S7 colour scheme, near the S7 check-in stands.  S7 representatives are always on hand to help.

7 easy steps for self-service check-in:

1.  Touch the terminal screen to begin, and select your language.

2.  Choose how to identify your booking.  You can insert an S7 Priority card or bank card, or enter an e-ticket number, booking reference, or passenger name and flight number.  Alternatively, you can scan the barcode on your e-ticket itinerary receipt.  Next, select the passenger(s) to be checked in.  Hint: if the system does not identify a passenger, try a different identification option.

3.  Choose your seat(s).  The system will automatically allocate a seat in the cabin, but you can change it by pressing ‘Change Seat’ and choosing from the available seats shown.

4.  If you’re on a frequent flyer programme, including S7 Priority, make sure that your member card number has been registered.  If no card number is shown beside your name, simply press ‘Add’ and enter the number.

5.  Read the list of items and substances prohibited on board.

6.  Collect your printed boarding pass(es).  Double-check the flight details, paying particular attention to the boarding time.  Note:  If you are checking in for connecting flights, the terminal will print out boarding passes for all itinerary legs.

Attention.  Passengers travelling with a paper ticket will be required to produce the ticket with the respective flight coupon, together with the boarding pass, when boarding.
