E-TicketNew ServiceS7 now allows its passengers to buy air tickets using the latest technology: e-tickets (electronic tickets). Today this is the most convenient way for passengers to acquire tickets, and the most popular in Europe and America. Every major airline uses it. E-ticketing technology appeared in 1996 in the USA. Today it has spread throughout the world. From 2008 all members of the IATA will have to use such tickets. S7 has been an Active Member of the Association since 2000. S7’s adoption of e-tickets has been preceded by more than a year of preparation work for many of our services, and by work with airports. At the same time, the question of whether e-tickets can be accepted as legitimate documents of carriage has been decisively resolved in Russian law, and S7 passengers can now buy tickets in the same way as millions of people in other countries. Passengers with electronic tickets are serviced at all the airports of S7 Airlines’ route network on 100% of the company’s regular flights. FAQ Answers:
An e-ticket (electronic ticket) is an electronic form of air ticket. It is issued instead of a normal ticket. Your flight booking is made as normal, but the travel information is not printed out in the traditional way, but securely stored in electronic form in a special database maintained by the airline.
E-tickets save considerable time, in both buying and going on flights. E-tickets are primarily of interest to people used to buying flights via our website. There is now no need to go to a ticket office to pick up your ticket or to get to the airport early to get it and check in before take-off. E-tickets are stored in electronic form, so they cannot be forgotten, lost or stolen. After buying an e-ticket, you can always easily change the details of your trip via our 24-hour support service (tel.: 8(800)200-000-7) or at an S7 sales office. You can send details of your trip to relatives, friends and business partners anywhere in the world immediately after buying your ticket. You can even buy e-tickets for your relatives and friends in other towns; all they have to do is turn up to check-in. Checking in for a flight with an e-ticket is always easy and takes a minimum amount of time. E-tickets are a further step into the future, a step towards efficiency, mobility and simplicity, a step in the direction in which S7 is going.
The most convenient way of buying an e-ticket is to buy it via our website, www.s7.ru. Your e-ticket will be created for you immediately after the completion of booking and payment. As confirmation, an itinerary/receipt will be e-mailed to the address provided by you. You can also buy e-tickets from S7's own sales offices. In time, it will be possible to buy e-tickets over the phone or at one of our agencies.
E-tickets can be paid for by any method (bank card, cash or wire transfer). E-tickets purchased via our website can be paid for only by payment card. E-tickets purchased from an S7 office can be paid for by payment card or and cash. Our corporate clients and charterers can pay for e-tickets by wire transfer, as they can normal tickets.
An itinerary/receipt is issued as confirmation of the purchase of the e-ticket. If you buy a ticket via our site, you will be e-mailed an itinerary/receipt once you have paid for the ticket. Using the itinerary/receipt, you can always check that the details of your purchase match your expectations. Like a paper ticket, the itinerary/receipt contains complete information on the route and the form and details of payment for the journey. We recommend that you keep it with you throughout your journey. The itinerary/receipt that is issued when you buy an e-ticket via our site is a little different from the one issued to you when you buy one from a ticket office.
An e-ticket, like a normal air ticket, is a document confirming that a Contract of Carriage by Air has been concluded between the passenger and the airline.
Checking in at the airport always requires a passport, in the case of adults, and a birth certificate in the case of children without a passport. The itinerary/receipt is convenient in that it contains all the information about your flight, so we recommend that you have it with you at the airport, but you do not need it to check in. NB! If you are flying abroad, you may need your itinerary/receipt when you are going through passport control as evidence that you have a return ticket or an onward ticket to another country. In addition, at some Russian airports you may need to show your itinerary/receipt to the aviation security services before you enter the airport. Therefore, it is best to print it out and take it with you.
Duplicates of boarding cards are not issued, so keep your boarding card with you when you board the aircraft.
