S7 Airlines increased its passenger traffic by 11.4%
The S7 Group airline companies1 have drawn up a balance of their operating activities for May 2017. In the last month, the airline companies carried 1,175,837 passengers, which is an 11.4% increase over May 2016.
International flights saw a 14.2% increase in passenger, 302,826 passengers were transported in May. S7 Airlines have carried 873,011 passengers on domestic flights, which is a 10.4% increase over May 2016.
“This May, we have launched several new flights from St. Petersburg. Now S7 Airlines connects the northern capital with Kaliningrad, Kaluga, Bryansk and Yaroslavl. On the eve of May holidays, the first modern regional airliner Embraer 170 entered the S7 Airlines fleet, its hub airport being in Novosibirsk. In May, this plane has already carried out flights to Tyumen, Salekhard, Gorno-Altaisk, Noyabrsk and other cities. Today, there are already three Embraer 170 in the S7 Airlines air fleet and by the end of the year we will receive a total of 17 airliners of this type, which will allow us to develop the route network more actively, including inter-regional air transportation,” notes Igor Veretennikov, S7 Group Commerce Director.
In April, the passenger turnover has increased by 16% and amounted to 2,397,098 thousand passenger-kilometres, the cargo turnover has increased by 16.5% and amounted to 227,010 thousand tonne-kilometres.
In May, S7 Airlines once again became the leader of the punctuality rating of the Moscow hub airport Domodedovo, having carried out the largest number of flights on schedule.
