S7 Airlines increased passenger traffic in August by 10.9%
Airlines of the S7 group1 have summed up the results of their operations for August 2019. Over the past month, the airlines carried 1,957,238 passengers, a 10.9% increase from the respective number for August 2018.
1,393,273 passengers took flights across Russia, which is 12.9% more than the respective number for August 2018. Growth from international routes amounted to 6.2%. In August 2019, 563,965 passengers were transported on the airlines' international flights.
Passenger traffic for the month increased by 14.5% and amounted to 4,334,184 thousand passenger kilometers.
“We spent the peak summer season very productively, which is confirmed by the results for August, the most popular month for travel. One of the development priorities for S7 Airlines is strengthening its presence in the Far East. In August, we carried 290 thousand passengers on our Far East flights, both on inter-regional and international routes. This is 38% more than the number for the same period last year,” said Igor Veretennikov, Commercial Director of the S7 Group.
In August, S7 Airlines updated its iOS app by adding baggage2 measurement. To check the size of your carry-on luggage, you need to open the "Baggage Measurement" section in the app. After clearing the area around your suitcase, tap on the “Start Verification” button and, holding the button, move your iPhone around your bag or suitcase. The app will compare the captured size with the permissible norm and will display a notification on the screen informing you about whether you are allowed to take the bag to the cabin, or if it must be checked in. Carry-on luggage weighing up to 10 kg and with dimensions not exceeding 55×40×23 cm may be brought into the cabin.
