S7 Airlines increased passengers’ conveyance by 10.8%
Airlines of the S7 Group1 summed up the production activity for May 2018. Over the last month, the airlines carried 1,302,916 passengers: it is 10.8% more than in May 2017.
Growth in international destinations amounted to 14.2%. In May 2018, on international flights, the airline carried 345,875 passengers. S7 Airlines took on board 957,041 passengers: it is 9.6% more than in May 2017.
The passenger flow for the month increased by 12.2% and amounted to 2,688,473 thousand pkm, cargo turnover increased by 11.3% up to 252,766 thousand tkm.
“Traditionally in May, passengers have long weekends at the beginning of the month and sea vacations prior to the peak season. It is resulting in the significant growth in passenger traffic both on domestic and international routes. We are happy to note the high demand for new foreign flights, which became available to S7 Airlines passengers in May: from Moscow to Antalya, from Novosibirsk to Larnaca”, Igor Veretennikov, S7 Group commercial director, remarks.
Last month, S7 Airlines completed the formation of the Embraer 170 aircraft fleet. Now the S7 Airlines fleet consists of 17 aircraft of this type. Cutting-edge and comfortable Embraer 170 liners are designed to carry 78 passengers in a spacious economy class cabin.
S7 Airlines is rapidly developing the geography of inter-regional flights. In May, Embraer 170 began flights from Novosibirsk to Nadym, Kogalym, and Beloyarsky, from St. Petersburg to Saransk. More than 30 domestic flights were launched from Moscow, Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg airports.
