What is prohibited from being carried on an airplane?

For flight safety, it is prohibited to transport the following on an airplane:

  • Explosive substances, fireworks, signal flares.
  • Flammable liquids and solid materials, lighter and stove fuel, paint, and matches.
  • Oxidizing materials and organic peroxides, bleaches, and fiberglass repair kits.
  • Compressed gases, butane, oxygen, propane, and scuba diving tanks.
  • Poisons, insecticides, herbicides, arsenic, cyanides, infectious substances, bacteria, and viruses.
  • Corrosive substances, mercury, acids, alkalis, and liquid battery components.
  • Radioactive materials.
  • Other items that may be used to attack passengers or crew or pose a threat during the flight.

Ensure that your luggage and carry-on baggage do not contain items prohibited for transport under the laws and regulations of the Government of the Russian Federation, international civil aviation agreements, and Russia’s agreements with other countries.
