Destinations affected by COVID-19

In this section, we have collected all the relevant information about international flights, requirements for passengers and conditions for entering foreign countries.

All passengers arriving from abroad by ancient transport must fill out a form for arriving in Russia to cross the border. Citizens of the Russian Federation can fill out a questionnaire in advance on the the Gosuslugi portal (Public Services Portal of the Russian Federation) before leaving for the Russian Federation.

After returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must take a coronavirus within 3 calendar days test and upload the results to the ”Gosuslugi” portal within 4 calendar days (Public Services Portal of the Russian Federation). The test results must be uploaded to the portal within 96 hours after returning (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor).

Citizens of the Russian Federation who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the past 12 months or who have had an illness in the last 6 months are not required to be tested. Information about vaccination or previous COVID-19 disease must be posted on the portal “Gosuslugi” portal (Public Services Portal of the Russian Federation) based on information obtained from the unified state information system in the field of health care.

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, must present the certificate of the COVID PCR-test’s negative results to the security staff. The test must be done no earlier than two calendar days before arrival on the territory of the Russian Federation (the period is calculated from the moment of sampling of the biomaterial). It is allowed to provide the results of the PCR test in the language of the country of departure, with a translation into Russian, the accuracy of which is certified by a consular official of the Russian Federation.

Flights from Russia to Austria

Entry into Austria is allowed for all categories of passengers, without restrictions. Since May 16, demands have been made to identify excessive communication for entry into Austria in connection with the coronavirus. More.

As of June 1, the mandatory wearing of masks has been lifted.

Flights from Austria to Russia

Citizens of the Russian Federation can purchase tickets for flights from Austria to Russia on s7.ru to return home.

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must pass a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). 

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

For flights to Azerbaijan, in accordance with the current rules, they will be accepted on the flight:

  • citizens of Azerbaijan;
  • passengers, upon presentation of documents confirming kinship, whose close relatives are citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan (one of the parents, sister, brother, husband, wife or child, grandfather, grandmother and grandson (granddaughter), including family members of such passengers (husband, wife, parents, children);
  • holders of diplomatic passports, heads, employees of diplomatic missions and consulates of foreign countries in the Republic of Azerbaijan, and members of their families;
  • foreigners and stateless persons who have a work permit in the Republic of Azerbaijan, a permit for temporary or permanent residence in the Republic of Azerbaijan, and their family members (wife (husband), parents in their care and children under 18 years of age, as well as children with disabilities who have reached the age of 18);
  • passengers who have been issued a special permit to enter the country by the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Foreign civilian countries, entry from those permitted in Azerbaijan, and not corresponding to the categories described above, apply for determination only under the following conditions:

  • Passengers over 18 years old — with an official certificate confirming the completion of the full course of vaccination, or an official document on recovery from COVID-19, provided that no more than 6 months have passed since the second dose of the vaccine. A vaccination certificate, a document on recovery, a certificate with the results of a PCR test must have attributes of electronic verification, for example, a QR code. These documents will be checked upon check-in at the airport.

Flights from Azerbaijan to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must pass a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 5 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day. 

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

On flights to Armenia, passengers who have the right to enter Armenia are accepted for transportation.

Citizens of countries requiring an Armenian visa must obtain it in advance and have it when boarding an aircraft.

The issuance of visas upon arrival at the Yerevan airport is currently not carried out.

From May 1, the requirements to present a certificate of vaccination and the results of PCR tests for entry into the country have been canceled.

Flights from Armenia to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must pass a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 4 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day. 

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

From May 1, entry into Bulgaria is allowed subject to the presence of documents and permission for all visa rights.

All restrictions and additional requirements for entering the country related to the coronavirus have been removed.

Flights from Bulgaria to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must take a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 5 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day. 

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

Since June 1, all coronavirus prizes for entering Germany have been received.

Flights from Germany to Russia

At airports in Germany, there are restrictions on the amount of carry-on luggage due to measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Passengers are allowed to present no more than 1 piece of carry-on baggage for inspection, with the exception of small handbags, briefcases, backpacks, tablet bags and similar small bags. We recommend that any additional bags / suitcases / boxes, etc., which are the second or third piece of hand luggage, should be checked in.

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

If you are flying to Russia via Germany, please check the requirements for staying in the airport transfer area. For transfer passengers traveling through Germany to third countries, a negative PCR test result in English is required. This requirement applies to transfer passengers over 6 years old arriving from countries (Brazil, India, South Africa and others), where new strains of coronavirus are common.

Until August 31, all restrictions related to the coronavirus have been lifted for entry into Greece. From June 1, it is planned to lift the requirement for the mandatory wearing of masks in public places.

Flights from Greece to Russia

Citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens who are allowed to enter the Russian Federation can purchase tickets on s7.ru for flights from Greece to Russia.

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must pass a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 5 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day.

All passengers are allowed to enter Egypt.

All additional requirements and restrictions related to the pandemic have been lifted.

Flights from Egypt to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must take a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 5 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day. 

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

Passengers will be accepted for flights to Spain subject to visa requirements.

Additionally, all passengers over 12 years of age must present one of the following documents before boarding the flight:

  • a negative PCR test result performed no earlier than 72 hours before entering the country, or an antigen test result (RAT on SARS-CoV-2) made no earlier than 24 hours before entering the country. The test result must be on paper in Spanish, English, German or French;
  • certificate of recovery of the European standard;
  • a certificate of vaccination of the European standard, if more than 14 days have passed since the date of the second dose of the vaccine. The vaccine must be approved by the EMA or WHO. The vaccine GamKovidVak (Sputnik V) is not on this list.

Prior to departure of a flight from Russia to Spain, passengers must complete the “FCS Health Control Form” here or download the SpTH app to their phone and fill out the form in the app. At the airport of arrival, you must show the QR code generated on the basis of the completed form to the airport staff.

Passengers who do not meet the conditions above will not be accepted on the flight.

Flights from Spain to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must pass a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 5 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day. 

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, in accordance with Decree 635-r must present to the control officers a certificate with a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus in Russian or English before boarding a flight to Russia. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

Flights from Russia to Italy

From June 1, all coronavirus restrictions for entering Italy have been lifted.

Flights from Italy to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must pass a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 5 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day. 

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, must present confirmation of COVID PCR test results to control officers prior to boarding their flight to Russia. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

Flights from Russia to Kazakhstan

Passengers with valid documents for entry into the country are accepted for carriage. There are no additional entry requirements related to the coronavirus.

Some cities in Kazakhstan require masks to be worn in public places and on transport.

Flights from Kazakhstan to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must pass a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 5 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day.

Citizens who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the past 12 months or who have had an illness in the last 6 months are not required to be tested. Information about vaccination or previous COVID-19 disease must be uploaded to the Public Services Portal.

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

Russian citizens flying to Cyprus must have a visa or other document allowing entry into the country. Pro-visa is allowed only when flying to Cyprus on direct flights from Russia. There are no additional entry requirements due to the coronavirus.

From July 8, 2022, the requirement to wear masks in public places and on transport has been returned.

Flights from Cyprus to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must take a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 5 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day.

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

Entry to Kyrgyzstan is allowed to citizens, subject to the availability of valid documents and compliance with all visa requirements.

From May 1, 2022, passengers are not required to present vaccination certificates and PCR test results.

Currently, entry into Kyrgyzstan is prohibited for citizens of Tajikistan, an exception is valid only for diplomats and their families.

Flights from Kyrgyzstan to Russia

Entry into the Republic of Moldova is allowed if there are documents and a register of all visa rights.

There are no additional guarantees for entering the country in connection with the coronavirus.

Flights from Moldova to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must pass a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 5 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day. 

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

For flights to Russia, with valid entry documents, passengers will be subject to a negative PCR test for coronavirus uploaded to the “Travelling without COVID-19” app.

Prior to the departure of the flight, it is necessary to present to the airline employee a document on COVID-status in English with a QR code, it can be one of the following documents:

  • a negative PCR test result for coronavirus taken less than 48 hours before departure;
  • certificate of vaccination, provided that the vaccination was performed by one of the vaccines: AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), AstraZeneca (SK Bioscience), Covaxin, Covishield, Covovax, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, Sinovac or “Sputnik V”;
  • a certificate of illness with a QR code, issued no more than 1 month before the trip.

Foreign citizens entering UAE must possess certain documents. The list of documents for each passengers category is presented below.

If you are traveling for a vacation or for personal reasons you will need:

  • COVID status document in English;
  • medical insurance for the entire period of your stay in the UAE, which covers the cost of coronavirus treatment and self-isolation in an observatory;
  • a completed health questionnaire, which includes personal data and the address of the self-isolation location;
  • passengers have to take a PCR test upon arrival in the UAE and self-isolate at their own expense until the result becomes available;
  • tourists have to install the COVID-19 DXB Smart mobile app to make it possible to track their movements and determine their location as well as options to contact them.

If you are transiting through the UAE, you do not need any extras other than those required to enter the destination country.

If you have a “resident visa”, you will need:

  • an electronic permission from the migration service of the Emirate, where the residence permit has been issued.
  • COVID status document in English;
  • medical insurance for the entire period of your stay in the UAE, which covers the cost of treatment for coronavirus infection and self-isolation in an observatory;
  • completed health questionnaire, which includes personal data and the address of the self-isolation location;
  • passengers have to take a PCR test upon arrival in the UAE and self-isolate at their own expense until the result becomes available;
  • passengers must install the COVID-19 DXB Smart mobile app to make it possible to track their movements and determine their location as well as options to contact them.

Passengers arriving in Dubai from Russia must have a paper medical certificate with a negative PCR test result for coronavirus, made less than 48 hours before departure, a certificate of vaccination or past illness in English. The document must be issued by a lab accredited by the country of departure. The certificate must have a QR code. No document is required for passengers under 12 and passengers with limited mobility.

Passengers who do not meet the conditions stated above will not be admitted to the flight.


Flights from Dubai to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must pass a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 5 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day. 

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

UAE nationals can fly to other countries subject to the following vaccination requirements:

  • receiving 3 doses of a vaccine certified in the UAE;
  • receiving 2 doses of the vaccine and having a certificate of the transferred COVID-19 disease;
  • receiving 2 doses of vaccine, provided that the second dose of vaccine was administered no more than 6 months before the date of departure;
  • vaccination with 1 dose of Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, provided that the vaccination was done within 2 months before departure.

Entry to Tajikistan is allowed to citizens, subject to the availability of valid documents and compliance with all visa requirements.

To enter Tajikistan, passengers must have a vaccination certificate issued by one of the Commonwealth of Independent States countries or a negative coronavirus test taken less than 72 hours before entering the country. This requirement does not apply to children under 3 years of age.In the absence of a vaccination certificate or PCR test results, passengers necessary to be tested for coronavirus infection upon arrival in the country.

Flights from Tajikistan to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must pass a coronavirus test and upload the results to the Public Services Portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). 

Russian citizens who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the past 12 months or who have had an illness in the last 6 months after arrival in Russia are not required to be tested. Information about vaccination or previous COVID-19 disease must be uploaded to the Public Services Portal.

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than 72 hours before departure in Russian or English.

To enter the country, please prepare one of the following documents:

  • a certificate of vaccination in English confirming that the second dose of the vaccine was given more than 14 days before entering the country. Not required for children under 18 years of age. List of recognized vaccines: AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), AZD1222 (SK Bioscience Co Ltd.), Covishield, Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, Sinovac, Sputnik V and Sputnik Light.
  • a negative PCR test result in English, taken less than 72 hours before departure.

PCR test results are not required for persons under 18 years of age traveling with vaccinated parents or guardians. It is recommended to have at least $10,000 in health insurance coverage that includes treatment for COVID-19

Flights from Thailand to Russia

After returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must take a coronavirus test and upload the results to the Gosuslugi portal. The test results must be uploaded to the portal within 96 hours after returning (Decree of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Until the results are received, you must observe the self-isolation regime at home.

Citizens who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 within the last 12 months or have been ill in the last 6 months are not required to be tested. Information about vaccination or past COVID-19 disease must be uploaded to the Gosuslugi portal.

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia, must present to the control staff a certificate of a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus in Russian or English. The test must be done less than two days before arrival.

From June 1, all coronavirus restrictions for entering Turkey have been lifted.

Flights from Turkey to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must take a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). Within 5 days after returning, you must re-take the coronavirus test and upload it to the public services portal. The time difference between the first and second test must be at least one day. 

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

Flights to Uzbekistan (Bukhara, Navoi, Namangan, Karshi, Samarkand, Tashkent, Urgench, Fergana) are available on s7.ru.

Passengers with valid documents to enter the country are accepted for carriage on flights.

There are no additional entry requirements related to the coronavirus.

Flights from Uzbekistan to Russia

Russians arriving from abroad must pass a PCR test for coronavirus within 96 hours after returning home (from May 1, you will need to pass two PCR tests) and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). 

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, before boarding a flight to Russia must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative PCR test for coronavirus. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.

Flights to France

Entry into France is allowed for all categories of passengers, without restrictions.

Please note that in some cities in France there is a requirement for mandatory wearing of masks in public places and on transport.

Flights to Russia

After returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must take a coronavirus test and upload the results to the Gosuslugi portal. The test results must be uploaded to the portal within 96 hours after returning (Decree of the Chief Sanitary Doctor).

Citizens of the Russian Federation who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 within the last 12 months or have been ill in the last 6 months are not required to be tested. Information about vaccination or past COVID-19 disease must be uploaded to the Gosuslugi portal.

Entry into Croatia is permitted subject to valid documents and compliance with all visa requirements.

All restrictions and additional requirements for entering the country related to the coronavirus have been removed.

Flights from Croatia to Russia

Within 96 hours after returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must take a coronavirus test and upload the results to the public services portal (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). 

Citizens who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the past 12 months or who have had an illness in the last 6 months are not required to be tested. Information about vaccination or previous COVID-19 disease must be uploaded to the Gosuslugi portal.

At the moment, all restrictions on entry into the country related to the pandemic have been lifted.

According to the requirements of the South Korean authorities, on flights from Russia to Seoul, there are restrictions on the categories of passengers who can fly, including restrictions on the types of visas accepted. Please read the information in this section carefully before purchasing a ticket, as well as a few days before your flight.

From April 1, 2022, visa-free entry to South Korea has been resumed for citizens of 45 countries, including citizens of Russia. To enter South Korea, you must first register in the K-ETA system on website or in mobile applications (App Store and Google Play). The permit fee is 10,000 won ($8.25).

Before departure to South Korea, you must fill out a quarantine form on the website and present the received QR code to a quarantine officer after arriving in Korea.

To prevent infections of animal disease and plant pests travelers to Republic Korea are strictly prohibited to bring animal products like fresh meat, plant products and fresh fruits. If you carry such items, please declare them and dispose in quarantine boxes upon arrival. Violators will be fined up to 10 million won. All travelers should avoid visiting livestock related areas like animal farms and markets.

Flights from Korea to Russia

After returning home, citizens of the Russian Federation must take a coronavirus test and upload the results to the Public Services Portal of the Russian Federation. The test results must be uploaded to the portal within 96 hours after return (Resolution of the Chief Sanitary Doctor). 

Citizens who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the past 12 months or who have had an illness in the last 6 months are not required to be tested. Information about vaccination or previous COVID-19 disease must be uploaded to the Public Services Portalof the Russian Federation.

Foreign citizens, except for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, prior to boarding a flight to Russia,must present to the control officers a certificate of a negative result of a PCR test for coronavirus in Russian or English. The certificate must be issued no earlier than two days before arrival.
