The airline has maintained its leading position throughout the year as Russia’s largest carrier in terms of passenger traffic.
S7 Airlines has finalized the results of its operations for March 2021. In the past month, the airline transported 1,317,704 passengers, 32% more than in March 2020. 1,254,097 passengers took domestic flights in Russia, 49.4% more than during the same period last year.
“The crisis year clearly demonstrated the potential of our broad route network within Russia; interregional flights remained popular even during the most challenging months. In March of this year, those who enjoy taking winter vacations were traditionally the most active group of travelers: flights to Sochi and Mineralnye Vody, as well as those to Khibiny, Sheregesh, Altai, and Kamchatka were in high demand. At the same time bookings for the summer season also began. New additions to the S7 Airlines schedule include direct flights from Novosibirsk to Kaliningrad, Gelendzhik, and Rostov-on-Don, which offer convenient connections to residents of the Far East, ” says Grigory Davydov, Strategy Director at the S7 Group.
During the summer season, S7 Airlines will operate flights to 130 destinations. In its schedule, the airline has emphasized flights to Crimea and Krasnodar Krai, which remain key attractions for family vacations. For the first time, S7 Airlines is offering direct flights to the Black Sea — Simferopol, Anapa, Sochi — will be accessible from Lipetsk, Ivanovo, Pskov, and Kurgan. The number of flights from Moscow to Gelendzhik will increase to three per day, while flights from Irkutsk to Sochi and Simferopol will be scheduled essentially twice as often.
