From now on, the benefits of the innovative S7 Airlines ticket payment system are available to all users of the Nemo.Travel online ticket sales platform — to hundreds of travel agents around the world.
The blockchain-based payment solution developed by professionals from S7 TechLab offers efficient, secure, and prompt mutual settlements between agents and the airline: money for a purchased ticket is debited from the agent’s bank account in the real-time mode.
“When working with online agents, we use a product developed on the basis of the IATA NDC standard — S7 Agent API, — which provides agents with direct access to all S7 Airlines services. Last year we connected our first online agent working under the international NDC standard to the blockchain platform. I am certain that from now on, for agents connected to S7 Agent API via Websky Tech, it will be easier to switch to mutual settlements using blockchain technology, ” said Igor Veretennikov, Deputy General Director for Sales at S7 Group.
“Connection to the S7 Airlines blockchain platform will enable our clients who use Nemo.Travel to work more efficiently in times of crisis. It’s no secret that agents are having a particularly difficult time during the industry crisis caused by COVID-19. Automation of mutual settlements for online sales is one of the ways to optimize work, and it is great that our colleagues from S7 Airlines are willing to provide this technology not only for their own terminals. We always strive to support our clients as much as possible, providing them with state-of-the-art tools and advanced solutions that contribute to the development of the agency business, ” said Dmitry Novikov, Commercial Director of Websky Tech.
“We have been working with S7 Airlines for many years, initially through partners, but last year we started direct cooperation. S7 Airlines flights represent about 30% of our total sales. The possibility of settlements via blockchain in the Nemo.Travel online system has taken our partnership to a new level. The technology does not require maintaining a deposit — all the money is at work, — which is especially important for our business, given the current crisis in the tourism market. Thus, we have an incentive to recommend S7 Airlines flights to our customers more often, ” stated Yelena Sharova, General Director of BaltBilet, a business travel agency.
The S7 Airlines blockchain platform developed in partnership with Alfa-Bank uses the Hyperledger Fabric protocol. This is the first project where an infrastructure for processing online payments — from booking tickets to making bank payments — was created. The platform implementation made it possible to increase the speed of settlements and to cut down paperwork, while ensuring safety of transactions. Early in the year, S7 Airlines switched to a new version of the platform, so now each transaction takes just 15 seconds.
