Ridley Road Market is located in the heart of trendy neighborhood of Dalston. At the entrance, right across from Kingsland Dalston Station, you can buy fruit and vegetables (usually with a discount in the evening), but the quality is not always the best. For example, if you buy 3 boxes of strawberries, blackberries and currants for £1, you might have to finish them that day. Inside the market you will find exotic produce from Africa, Asia, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, such as dried Pangasius fish, flour for fufu making, strawberry taro, and palm oil. Besides produce, you can also get fabrics, disks with ethnic music, pans, toys and suitcases. In between the end of the work day for the merchants (6-7pm) and beginning of the shift for the janitors, it's best not to be at the market. Too much garbage everywhere and very dirty.
