First Airbus A321neo in Russia joins S7 fleet

28.06.2018

Today S7 Airlines, a member of the global alliance oneworld, announced that it had received its first Airbus A321neo aircraft. The jet airliner joins the airline’s fleet directly from the Airbus factory in Hamburg.

S7 Airlines received the new Airbus A321neo on lease from its partner, Air Lease Corporation. Three more deliveries of these jet airliners are expected by the end of the year. In the nearest future, flight routes from Moscow to Irkutsk and Burgas will be operated by the new aircraft.

“S7 Airlines continues to update its aircraft fleet by using the latest innovations from the largest manufacturers in the world. The new Airbus A321neo will enable our company to increase its operating capacity inside Russia, and offer new international flight routes to our passengers. We are glad that S7 Airline passengers will be the first to enjoy the comfort of flying in these modern aircraft,” noted Vladimir Obyedkov, S7 Airlines CEO.

Jet airliners from the Airbus A320neo family are the quietest aircraft in their class. The aircraft’s external noise levels are 19 dB lower than the requirements listed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO, Chapter IV), while its noise print range on takeoff is 50 % less than that of the previous generation airplanes.

The jet airliner has the most spacious cabin in comparison to its competitors, improved sound proofing, ample room in its overhead compartments and more space for hand luggage under its seats. The overhead panels above the seats are equipped with LED lamps for reading, emitting light that is well tolerated by the human eye.

The state-of-the-art air conditioning system guarantees air freshness and uniform air distribution throughout the aircraft cabin, and allows for complete air circulation every 2 minutes.

The new S7 Airline Airbus A321neo is designed to transport 8 passengers in business class and 195 passengers in economy class. Its modern seats are equipped with USB-enabled power outlets with special holders for mobile devices. A miniature triple support at eye-level allows passengers to secure their tablet PCs on the back of the seat in front of them.

In summer 2017, S7 Airlines was the first Russian airline to receive a modern aircraft from the Airbus A320neo family. And now the fleet of the airline includes six Airbus A320neo jets and one Airbus A321neo aircraft.
