New Airbus 320 addition to S7 Airlines fleet


This aircraft is the thirtieth A320 family airliner in the company’s fleet

S7 Airlines, a member of the oneworld® global aviation alliance, is proud to announce that it has taken delivery of a new foreign manufactured Airbus A320 modern aircraft. The aircraft has been transferred to S7 Airlines today at a solemn ceremony in Toulouse (France). The airliner has been received on lease terms from the Air Lease Corporation.

The А3201family aircraft make up the bulk of the S7 Airlines fleet. The company’s flight schedule includes many routes, on which these aircraft perform most efficiently. The new airliner has become the thirtieth A320 family aircraft in the S7 Airlines fleet. The total number of aircraft in the company’s fleet has now reached 43.

“In May S7 Airlines will be celebrating its 20th anniversary and we are particularly pleased to offer new modern aircraft to our passengers. We are going to receive six Airbus A320 in the first six months of the year, all of them coming directly from the plant to our fleet. S7 Airlines makes the in-flight security and comfort of its passengers its main priority. The A320 family aircraft fully meet the highest requirements” — Vladimir Obyedkov, Director General of S7 Airlines commented.

According to the delivery schedule the company will receive two more A320 aircrafts in February, followed by another one in April and another two in May.

The new Airbus A320 will be based at the Moscow Domodedovo Airport and used to perform flights to Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Munich, Innsbruck and other cities of the S7 Airlines network.

Airbus А3202 is a modern narrow-body aircraft featuring a spacious cabin arrangement and capacious carry-on baggage compartments for better comfort of the passengers. The airliner is designed to carry 158 passengers: eight business class seats and 150 economy class seats. New passenger seats by Recaro (Germany) installed in the cabins will ensure a comfortable flying experience.

The A320 family aircraft are recognized sales leaders in their market segment. Over 8300 aircraft of this type have been sold in total, while more than 5000 have been delivered to 340 customers and operators. The most cutting edge technology in the areas of aerodynamics, engine building and avionics were used in the development of these aircraft. Additionally, the A320 family aircraft have the most spacious and comfortable cabin in their class and are noted for low operational expenses and one of the highest flight regularity indices (99.7%). All aircraft of this type have a unified piloting skill and maintenance requirements, which helps cut down operational expenses even further.

S7 Airlines currently operates one of the most modern and “youngest” aircraft fleets on the Russian air transportation market. S7 Airlines performs its flights only on aircrafts of the leading manufacturers — Airbus and Boeing.  S7 Airlines fleet comprises 43 aircraft: 20 Airbus A319, ten Airbus A320, one Airbus A310, two long haul Boeing 767-300, four Boeing 737-400 and six Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.
