S7 Airlines and Airbus — ten years together
S7 Airlines, a member of the oneworld® global aviation alliance®, celebrates ten years of Airbus aircrafts exploitation. On the anniversary day the airline received another Airbus A320 aircraft.
On the 3rd of July 2004 the first airliner manufactured by Airbus corporation appeared in the airline fleet. Today the manufacturer’s aircrafts make up the bulk of the airline fleet, which is one of the most young and modern aircraft fleets on the Russian air transportation market. The average Airbus airliner age is eight years.
“The modern airliner fleet is one of the key advantages of S7 Airlines. We constantly renew the fleet buying new aircrafts and using the latest developments of aircraft manufacturers. Airbus family aircrafts perfectly suit the S7 Airlines route network and allow us to offer our passengers comfortable flights”, Vadim Besperstov, S7 Airlines Strategic Development Director, noted.
Today S7 Airlines obtains a new Airbus A320 liner with production retrofitted sharklets directly from Airbus Tolouse factory. The airline purchased a similar airliner in April 2014. The aircraft is designed to carry 158 passengers in economy and business class cabins. The cabins are equipped with modern Recaro seats (Germany).
Soon after all necessary procedures are accomplished the liner will start operating flights from Moscow Domodedovo Airport. First flights will be performed on domestic routes — to Irkutsk, Sochi, Krasnodar, and then on all routes of the S7 Airlines network.
With the new Airbus A320 there will be 43 Airbus aircrafts in the S7 Airlines fleet including 20 Airbus A319, 19 Airbus A320 and four Airbus A321.
The airline has a wide internal route network, created on the basis of air transport hubs in Moscow (Domodedovo) and Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo).
In 2007 the company received an official IATA certificate as an IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) operator, becoming the second air carrier in Russia to have successfully passed the full international audit procedure for compliance with operational safety standards.
S7 Airlines is among the top 5 of the most reputable Russian companies of 2017 and ranks the fourth among the most desirable Russian employers.
S7 Airlines is a Safety Leaders Award winner in “Transportation Safety: Flight Safety” category.
At the end of 2016, S7 Airlines became the winner of Skyway Service Award aviation award in three categories: the best airline in category “Economy Class, Domestic Scheduled Services”, “Best Loyalty Program” and “Best Online Customer Services”.
