S7 Airlines increased its passenger traffic by 15.2%
The S7 Group1 airlines have drawn up a balance of their operating activities for January 2017. Last month, the airlines carried 1,014,014 passengers, which is a 15.2% increase over January 2016.
726,633 passengers used S7 Airlines domestic flights, which is 15.2% more than in the first month of 2016. International flights have seen the increase in a number of passengers by 15.3%; together airlines have transported 287,381 passengers.
The passenger turnover in the first month of the year have grown by 17.1%, to 2,096,041 thousand passenger-kilometers, the cargo turnover has increased by 17.4%, to 197,407 thousand tonne-kilometers.
“In January both domestic and international destinations have seen steady growth, which is about 15%. This is a good indicator. We continue to develop airline route network. Soon we will commence flights to international tourist destinations, from Moscow to Catania and Pisa in Italy, to Kos in Greece, as well as domestic flights from Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg; tickets are already available. In addition, in the summer schedule passengers will appreciate the comfort of the new aircraft of S7 Airlines air fleet, namely Embraer 170-LR and Airbus A320neo. S7 Airlines will become the first airline in Russia operating these modern aircrafts”, said Igor Veretennikov, the Commerce Director of S7 Group.
According to the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), S7 Airlines was the most punctual airline in Russia in 2016. In January, the airline has once again confirmed the leadership in punctuality in the Domodedovo hub airport.

At the end of 2016, S7 Airlines became the winner of Skyway Service Award aviation award in three categories: the best airline in category “Economy Class, Domestic Scheduled Services”, “Best Loyalty Program” and “Best Online Customer Services.”
In 2016 the airlines transported 13.1 million passengers.
