S7 Airlines increased its passenger traffic by 8.4%

The S7 Group airlines1 have reviewed the results of their operating activities for March 2018. Last month the airline companies carried 1,097,409 passengers, which is an 8.4% increase over March 2017.

The growth of passenger traffic on international destinations amounted to 21.6%. In March 2018, the airlines carried 290,129 passengers on its international flights. S7 Airlines carried 807,280 passengers on domestic flights, which is a 4.4% increase over March 2017.

In March 2018, the passenger turnover increased by 8.4% and amounted to 2,233,734 thousand passenger-kilometres, the cargo turnover increased by 7.3% and amounted to 212,291 thousand tonne-kilometres.

“The results of carriages performed in March met our expectations. The high growth on international destinations is caused by the increased demand for travel to Korea, Thailand, Italy, Germany and Armenia. In addition, compared to last year, new flights became available to passengers this March: from Moscow to Rome, Pisa, Catania and from St. Petersburg to Berlin, Verona, Turin, Innsbruck, Salzburg and Lyon,” notes Igor Veretennikov, the Commerce Director of S7 Group.

At the end of the month, S7 Airlines switched over to the summer flight schedule, which will remain effective until 27 October 2018. During this period, the airline will operate flights to 34 countries in the world, including completely new destinations, such as Iceland, Sweden, Denmark and Turkey. S7 Airlines continues to expand its presence in Western Europe and launches flights to popular summer holiday cities: from Moscow to Bari, Tenerife and Sardinia, from St. Petersburg to Pisa, Pula and Alicante, and from Novosibirsk to Larnaca.
