S7 Airlines increased passenger turnover by 26.5 %

S7 Group1 member airlines summarized the results of their activity in March 2016. During the last month 866 407 passengers used the services of the airlines, which is 26.5 % more, than in March 2015.

According to results of the three months of 2016 the growth reached 23 %. Main growth was indicated on domestic routes. S7 Group member airlines carried within Russia 659 316 passengers, which is 34.4 % more, than a year before. In March 207 091 passengers took international flights, which is 6.6 % more, than in March 2015.

Passenger turnover grew by 21.7% and reached 1 722 277 thousand pkm., cargo turnover grew by 21.6 % up to 164 949 thousand tkm. During the last month the airlines carried 4 092 tons of cargo and mail.

«Summarizing the results of the first quarter we indicate the remaining significant passenger turnover growth on S7 Airlines domestic flights. Among other factors the reason for this is the increase of flight frequency on a number of routes within Russia. E.g. on the route Moscow – Saint Petersburg we increased the frequency of flights up to 12 daily flights. In the first quarter the airline carried on international routes 4.9 % more passengers, than a year before. In the summer schedule we open new international flights to Greek Rhodes, Spanish Malaga and Ibiza, Berlin and Dusseldorf, and we will resume flights on seasonal routes to Russian and international resorts. At the end of the year we expect the remaining growth of business indexes», Igor Veretennikov, S7 Group Strategy Director, noted.
