S7 Airlines’ Moscow-Irkutsk route now operated by modern Airbus A319
On 26 August, Flight S7 779/780 was operated by a modern Airbus A319 for the first time. This daily flight will now be operated by an A319 on a permanent basis. From Moscow to Irkutsk, departure is at 23:25 and arrival at 9:45; from Irkutsk to Moscow, departure is at 12:30 and arrival at 13:25 (all times are local).
“This is the first time an aircraft of this type has operated flights to Irkutsk. Thanks to the A319 aircraft, we can offer passengers attractive fares and a comfortable flight,” said Aleksandr Zyubr, Director of S7 Group’s Eastern Siberian regional branch.
In 2006, as part of its fleet modernization program, S7 Airlines has leased 6 A319 aircraft, manufactured by the European consortium Airbus Industrie, for domestic and international flights. All the aircraft were built in 1999-2000. Another 4 such aircraft are due to enter into service for S7 by the end of the year.
The А319 is built to carry 128 passengers —8 in business class and 120 in economy class. The А319 is notable for its spacious cabin, which has a low noise level and other advantages that make flying on the aircraft comfortable.
Since February 2005, passengers have been able to buy tickets for any S7 flight through the airline’s website, www.s7.ru. They can also use the site to check the flight timetable, seat availability and current fares.
