S7 Airlines obtained a new Airbus A320

S7 Airlines, a member of the oneworld® global aviation alliance®, announces obtaining a modern Airbus A320 liner with production retrofitted sharklets.

The aircraft was delivered to the airline directly from the Airbus Toulouse plane factory, the airline obtained it from the lease company “SMBC Aviation Capital” on lease terms. The aircraft is designed to carry 158 passengers in economy and business class cabins. The cabins are already equipped with modern passenger aircraft seats Recaro (Germany) providing maximum comfort during the flight.

The new 2.4 metre high winglets are made from composite materials. Sharklets improve the aerodynamic characteristics of an aircraft, reduce the fuel burn up to 4% over long routes, and offer an increase in range and payload.

This year the airline fleet will be expanded by adding another Airbus liner with production retrofitted sharklets. S7 Airlines will also install new winglets on two aircrafts delivered from the Airbus plane factory earlier.

S7 Airlines started operating Airbus aircrafts in 2004. Airbus A320 family aircrafts make up the bulk of the airline fleet and correspond to the requirements of the route network to the maximum extent. The new aircraft will become the 42nd Airbus family airliner in the S7 Airlines fleet.
