S7 Airlines supported an art project of a snow artist
As a part of cooperation with “Bazelevs”, Timur Bekmambetov’s film company, S7 Airlines supported an art project of Simon Beck, a unique snow artist.
Together with “Bazelevs” film company S7 Airlines transported to Yakutia English artist Simon Beck, a founder of snow art — creating gigantic snow drawings. For the opening scene of the movie “He is the Dragon” Simon Beck created on a snow field a 130 meter - diameter dragon.
“A tale about a dragon reminded us of a dream of one child, a participant of the S7 Airlines advertizing campaign #IWANTTOGOWHERE. The child wished to go to a fairy place “where dragons are sleeping”, and we found it in the real world — on Kamchatka, where volcanoes are sleeping. For implementing Simon Beck’s snow art project and filming an episode of the movie “He is the Dragon” we chose another destination — the Sakha Republic, where temperatures in October reached minus 30 degrees, and where it was easy to find a large snow area”, Tatiana Fileva, S7 Group Marketing Deputy General Director, said.
While creating his works Simon uses snowshoes, compass and plumb bob. It took Simon 15 hours to create a dragon image in Yakutia, plus he needed one additional hour to make an inscription “Хочу туда, где спит дракон” [I want to go, where a dragon is sleeping].
You can watch a video about the creation of the image in S7 Airlines YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/4c7IZSP2Hpo.
In 2015 S7 Airlines was the winner of several Cannes Lions (including a Silver Lion in the “Film” category) for the advertizing campaign #IWANTTOGOWHERE.
Timur Bekmambetov is a producer of the movie “He is the Dragon”. The movie premiere will take place on 3 December 2015.
