S7 Airlines Taking Part in Transportation of Russia 2008 Exhibition


May 22 will be Siberia Day at the exhibition. Major transportation companies of Siberia and representatives of regional government agencies are taking part in an event called “Novosibirsk Region: the Transportation Center of Siberia.” Vyacheslav Novikov, S7 Airlines’ General Representative in Novosibirsk and Alexei Chertenkov, General Director of Tolmachevo Airport gave a presentation of a program for the development of the Novosibirsk aviation hub.

“S7 Airlines has a broad network of routes from Novosibirsk consisting of about 50 routes to Russian and foreign cities. The airline is consistently increasing its transport volumes from Novosibirsk. In 2008, S7 Airlines plans to transport more than 990,000 passengers through Tolmachevo Airport, and by 2015 the number of S7 Airlines passengers on this route will increase to 1.7 million people,” said Vyacheslav Novikov.

Working meetings of S7 Airlines representatives and those of other companies were held as part of the exhibition, where issues concerning the implementation of a federal targeted program to develop the country’s transportation industry were discussed.

S7 Airlines is the largest airline on Russia`s domestic routes and one of the world`s top 50 in this segment.

In 2007 the company received an official notification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) about the airline`s certification in that organization, becoming the second carrier in Russia to successfully pass the IATA Operational Safety Audit.

S7 Airlines is one of Russia`s most stable airlines, incorporating the latest achievements of the world industry in the servicing of passengers and actively expanding its service. S7 Airlines won the annual national “People`s Brand / Brand No. 1 in Russia” prize in 2007.
