S7 Airlines will advise Sukhoi Civil Aircraft on designing the SSJ 75 aircraft
S7 Airlines experts together with Sukhoi Civil Aircraft specialists have joined the Supervisory Board, which will supervise the design of the SSJ 75 aircraft, a new 75-seat modification of the SSJ100. The respective plans were set in the agreement of intent during Eurasia Airshow.
“We expect that the expertise and experience of S7 Airlines in the operation of aircraft and the development of inter-regional air carriages will be valuable to colleagues from Sukhoi Civil Aircraft in designing a short-haul aircraft of the new generation. The Russian market needs an efficient aircraft that meets the high flight, technical, environmental and economic requirements. I hope that SCAC will present a modern competitive aircraft to the market. If the project is successfully completed, we will be happy to become the initial customer of SSJ 75,” notes Anton Eremin, CEO of S7 Group.
S7 Airlines takes part in the elaboration of design flight, technical, resource and economic requirements for the SSJ 75 characteristics, which involve a comprehensive upgrade of the existing aircraft.
It is expected that the draft of the new aircraft will be submitted before the end of 2018 and then a decision on further cooperation will be made within three months.
S7 Airlines is actively expanding the geography of the interregional air transportation. Over the past year, the airline has launched more than 25 new flights, allowing passengers to get quickly and comfortably to major regional centres, such as Moscow, Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg, as well as to make business and personal trips to neighbouring regions.
