Siberia Airlines announces preliminary operational results for 2004
In 2004, Siberia airline carried out 29,780 flights. The total number of passengers transported by Siberia Airlines increased by 10.3% compared to 2003 and reached 3.748 million. 64.8% of the passenger traffic is attributed to domestic operations and 35.2% to international operations. The passenger turnover grew by 6.7% in comparison with 2003 and summed up to 9, 871 mln. pkm. The volume of transported cargo and mail increased by 9% in 2003 and comprised 22,906 tons. The seat load factor last year was 73.6%, the commercial load factor 68.8%, which was lower than the level of 2003 by 5.8% and 6.6% accordingly. This decline is attributed to the decreased share of charter flights and the launch of a large number of new scheduled flights.
In July 2004 Siberia Airlines started operating a new type of aircraft - the Airbus A310-300. Two A310s taken under operational leasing serve domestic routes between Moscow and Siberian cities and carry out flights to Germany, Azerbaijan, Armenia and other countries. A310 maintenance (A-checks) of is carried out in Novosibirsk by the airlines specialists.
In February 2004, Siberia Airlines became the winner of the Air Transport World awards in the "Market Leadership" nomination.
