Siberia Airlines launches flights to Japan

«Opening a flight for Japan is an important contribution to the development of tourism and business in the Irkutsk region, says Alexander Zyubr, director of the East Siberian branch of Siberia Airlines. Due to the new flight, over 1,500 Japanese tourists will visit Irkutsk and Baikal this year. This is also a considerable contribution to the development of international transit via the Irkutsk airport, as most Japanese tourists travel along the following route: Niigata - Irkutsk - St. Petersburg - iigata. Services rendered to transit passengers bring additional revenues to the airport and to the region».
Being the basic air carrier in the region, Siberia Airlines ensures a wide range of flights, providing direct regular flights from the Irkutsk region. In the summer of 2004, flights in 14 directions will be conducted from Irkutsk. The flight geography will be expanded due to regular flights to Antalia (Turkey), Niigata (Japan) and Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
