Siberia Airlines launches scheduled flights between Irkutsk and Beijing

There have been charter flights between Irkutsk and Beifing since this June, however the flight status did not allow the airline to provide a full range of services to its passengers. Thanks to changes in the inter-governmental agreement on air transport between Russia and China, it has become possible to make the flight regular. Now tickets for this route will be freely available, and there will also be the possibility to use the “Interline” agreement to fly to other cities in China and Southeast Asia.

“After making the flight regular, we can now talk about a good connection between Irkutsk and the capital of China,” said Alexander Zyubr, the director of Siberia Airlines’ Eastern Siberian Regional Branch. “Furthermore, Beijing will become a convenient transit point for residents of the Baikal area to travel to other cities and countries.”

In addition to Beijing, Siberia Airlines also has regular flights to other Chinese cities — Shenyang (all year) and Dalian (during summer).
