Siberia Airlines’ operation summary for the third quarter of 2003


The number of flights operated by the company in the third quarter went up by 18% compared to the previous year. There were 6 completely new flights added to Siberia Airlines’ schedule. The company opened new flights from Moscow to Vladikavkaz and Frankfurt-am-Main and supplementary flights to Novokuznetsk and Nizhny Novgorod. The flights to Seoul and Daliyan are now operated from Irkutsk. The passenger seat turnover on Siberia Airlines’ flights became 84.4%, with the tonne-kilometer value—78.6% (in 2002—77.8% and 72.4% respectively). The total of 2 642,000.00 passengers have been carried within 9 months of 2003 (23.1% more than last year). The traffic has increased by 18.0% and amounted to 7 181 mln. pkm, the tonne-kilometer value has gone up by 17.5% and amounted to 692.3 mln. tkm. The seat turnover was 80.3%, with the tonne-kilometer value—75.8% (in 2002—74.2% and 70.4% respectively). According to the data provided by the Transport Clearing Organization as per the end-of-first-half year of 2003, Siberia Airlines was ranked first among Russian airlines in passenger traffic on domestic flights and second—on international flights. In June 2003 Siberia Airlines became the first Russian company declared the winner of Flight International Aerospace Awards under «Corporative Strategy» nomination.
