The Canary islands: tickets go on open sale
On December 1 2006, tickets went on sale for the regular weekly flights S7 885/886, to operate on Fridays between Moscow and Tenerife from January 5 through March 25 2007. Departure from Moscow is at 1:45 PM (arriving in Tenerife at 6:00 PM); departure from Tenerife is at 7:20 PM (arriving at Moscow at 5:10 AM the next day). Tickets for summer season flights will go on sale later.
Tenerife is the largest and most populous of the Canary Islands, Spain: every year over half of all visitors to the islands go there. In the language of its ancient inhabitants, “Tenerife” means “snowy mountain”, and there is good reason for this: thanks to the Teide volcano, Tenerife is the highest island in the Atlantic Ocean. In addition, Tenerife is the only resort in Europe where it is possible to sunbathe and swim in the ocean even in winter. The uniquely mild climate makes it possible to avoid heat exhaustion; unlike in most ‘exotic’ countries, acclimatizing is very easy.
The flights from Moscow arrive at Reina Sofia Airport in southern Tenerife, not far from the resorts of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. A highway links the airport and the towns of Santa Cruz and Puerto de la Cruz.
Tickets for S7’s flights between Moscow and Tenerife can be obtained from S7 Tour offices, S7 Airlines ticket offices, ticket offices of S7’s partners, and the website www.s7.ru.
You can find a flight timetable, check seat availability and book tickets on the company’s official website, www.s7.ru, or by calling (free from within Russia). In 2005, S7 Airlines became the first Russian carrier to give its passengers the chance to buy tickets on the internet right from their own computer.
