The S7 group1 airlines summed up their performance in January-June 2019. Over the past six months, the airlines carried 8,157,908 passengers, which is 14.2% more than over the same period in 2018.

S7 Airlines flew 5,916,547 passengers across Russia, which is 13.2% more than in the first half of 2018. Increase in international flights amounted to 16.9%. In the first half of 2019, the airline flew 2,241,361 passengers on international flights.

Over the course of half a year, passenger traffic increased by 17.3% and amounted to 17,174,708 thousand pkm.

“At the end of the first half of 2019, S7 Airlines achieved an important milestone: in June, the airline’s fleet exceeded 100 airliners. An Airbus A320neo became their hundredth aircraft, and now S7 Airlines has 18 new generation aircraft. “The gradual expansion and renewal of the fleet allows us to offer new travel destinations to the passengers, as well as increase the frequency of the most popular flights during high season,” said Igor Veretennikov, commercial director of S7 Group.

Passengers of the Airbus A320neo family airliners were first to take advantage of the in-flight entertainment system. Now S7 Airlines passengers have the opportunity to watch movies, TV series and children’s cartoons, listen to music and radio dramas, and read books on board. Free entertainment content is placed on a local network which can be accessed using any personal electronic devices: smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Since the beginning of summer, the entertainment system has been operating in test mode on the airline’s Airbus and Boeing aircraft flights.

Last month, the prestigious British agency Skytrax announced the winners of their annual World Airline Awards at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget. S7 Airlines was once again one of the top three Eastern European airlines, and it also climbed two spots on the World’s Best ranking compared to last year.
