S7 Airlines offers a Self-Service Baggage Check-In to its passengers

S7 Airlines, a oneworld® global airline alliance member, has become the first Russian airline to offer its passengers the opportunity to check in their baggage themselves.

Now, passengers of S7 Airlines can check in their personal baggage immediately when checking in online on the website of the airline and hand it over at a separate counter at the airport.

“We always strive to make the journey of our passengers as comfortable as possible. The possibility to check-in your baggage yourself simultaneously with the online flight check-in can significantly reduce the time spent at the airport before the departure. The passenger drops their baggage at a special counter and immediately passes into the passport control area,” notes Svetlana Kulyukina, Passenger Experience Department Director at S7 Group.

After the baggage is checked, the passenger will receive an e-mail with a baggage tag, which they must print, fold according to instructions and take to the airport. After the first self-service baggage check-in at the special counter at the airport, the passenger will receive a reusable envelope for the baggage tag and attach it to the suitcase. Thus, next time you make your trip you can fully prepare your baggage in advance and all that you will have to do at the airport is to hand it over to the personnel of S7 Airlines.

Today, passengers who take S7 Airlines direct flights from Moscow Domodedovo airport can appreciate the convenience of the self-service baggage check-in. Later such opportunity will be available at other airports of the S7 Airlines route network.

S7 Airlines constantly offers new services for its passengers, including those who travel with baggage. Also, it became possible to track baggage at Domodedovo Airport in the S7 Airlines mobile app. Having specified the number of a baggage tag in the app, the passenger can track the stages of the baggage preparation for departure, including the successful control check clearance by the aviation security service and readiness for loading on board. The service is also available for oversize and fragile baggage, which is handed over at the special counter at the airport.
